Initiated in 1994, the Siloxane Research Program (SRP) represents the largest voluntary health and safety testing program ever conducted on siloxanes, a commonly used type of silicone material.
With the support of silicone manufacturers around the world, SRP provides greater scientific understanding of the safety of six major siloxanes used in consumer and industrial applications. The goal of the research is to investigate potential hazards associated with these materials regarding human health.
An external science advisory board, that includes nationally and internationally renowned scientists, provides an independent review of the SRP strategy, methodology, and findings. Independent universities and qualified laboratories perform and review the tests and studies. Research results are regularly published in peer-reviewed journals.
Over 100 studies have been completed to date - the results continue to support the safe use of our materials in their intended applications.
